The early 60's were a tough time for Buick. During the late 1950's Buick had skidded to ninth place in the United States Auto industry. Something had to be done to reverse the trend and restore Buick to its former glory. Amid a management shakeup, Edward D. Rollert took over the Buick Division and in his quest to improve quality and styling the 1961 Buick LeSabre Convertible was born. This car was part of a totally different vision for the management at Buick. It was a car that not only redefined quality but added a fresh new style that propelled Buick back to the top ranks of the American Auto Industry in the '60's.
The first thing you'll notice about this beautiful Buick LeSabre convertible is the stunning blue paint which perfectly complements the two tone leather interior. This car has been restored to an absolutely immaculate state. The sparkling blue paint glistens from end to end and has been kept free of scratches and imperfections. In addition to the exterior, the interior looks and feel as though it's still sitting in its first showroom in 1962. Underneath the hood, you'll find an original 401 V8 that was an upgrade from the standard 364 V8 sold in 1961. Although, this 401 V8 (aka "Wildcat 375") would later become standard in 1962 through 1963, this engine truly added the muscle car feel of this cruiser. This engine is also be featured on the '59-66 Electra, the '62-'66 Wildcat, and the '53 and-'55 Riviera. The 401 V8 sits inside of a wonderfully restored engine bay that is easily 9 out of 10. The underbody has also been completely cleaned and restored to 100 percent accuracy with the original design.
This truly is a great summer car! There is nothing in the world better than driving this immaculate 1961 Buick LeSabre with the top down in the summer! Don't wait to buy this car! Summer will be over before you know it! |
